‘SMITH’ – YOUNG CRICKETING STAR SHOWS PROMISE

Daniel Smith scored 137* off 105 balls, with a strike rate of 132,4 against Jeppe at the annual Cape School Cricket Festival in Pretoria.  Smith, currently in grade 9, went on to dominate the week with his powerful hitting scoring two centuries as well as a half- century on the final day against Maritzburg College.

CAPTAIN FANTASTIC FALLS ONE RUN SHORT

Gregory Willows, captain of the SACS 1st XI fell one run short of yet another century on Sunday against Durbanville Cricket Club. Gregory, currently in matric will look to display similar form with 4 games left of his high school career.

LIEBENBERG FINDS EARLY FORM

Michael Liebenberg’s innings against the Durbanville Cricket Club showed signs of early form as he sent the bowlers packing to all parts of the ground. The SACS 1st XI amassed a total of 334 for 9 in their 50 overs.

Sacs won the game by 229 runs, bowling Durbanville out for 105 runs.

SACS U/19 B vs PAARL BOYS HIGH

A windy Saturday saw the 2nd team boys playing in a tough and exiting game against Paarl Boys 2nd team in a 50 over game.

Captain Ross Letcher won the toss and put Paarl in to bat first. A really strong wind made bowling difficult but the boys did a good job and restricted Paarl Boys to 218-9 in their 50 overs.

Dylan Fourie was the top wicket taker with fixtures of 3-40 followed by Athic Fayker with 2-17. Rihaz Fredericks, Liam Schrickker, Tatenda Shuttleworth-Richardson and Alister Kretzschmar all took one stick. Continue reading “SACS U/19 B VS PAARL BOYS HIGH”

SACS U/19 D vs PAARL BOYS HIGH

The 4th Team travelled to Paarl on a warm Friday afternoon. SACS batted first and got off to a reasonable start with captain Brandon Davis striking three early boundaries. When he fell we suffered a mini collapse to 31/3 until Sa’eed Fataar and Doulton Pawley steadied he ship. The put on 81 runs for the fourth wicket. Fataar eventually fell for 23 runs while Pawley continued to strike the ball cleanly for the most part. He ended on 65 not out as we posted a respectable 128/4 in our 20 overs.
